Ahoy Matey!!!

So, I want to deviate from the adventures of our Honeymoon to share our Pirate adventure!

For the third time, our friend Laura hosted a Murder Mystery Party. Parties at Laura's are always fun but add in a murder and costumes and it can't be beat! This particular theme was "Murder Among the Mateys"... so we were all Pirates! Brad actually played a character in the who-done-it but I chose not to. I still dressed up though.

It was a fun night of laughs and friends. While all of that was going on, the characters tried to size up each other to see who was out to get whom. Then about halfway through the night, one of the characters dramatically died!!

So, then a new round of clues are passed out to the characters. Then the mission becomes figuring out the murderer!!! Who had the motive and opportunity? Who had something to gain? This isn't just up to the characters... all that are invited to the party are supposed to mingle with the guests and get information. In fact, we are even given coins to bribe people with!! 

At the end of the night, ballots are cast so that people can guess the killer. Then the villain is announced and you find out if you pieced it together correctly!

The success of these parties is based strictly on how involved your guests will get. It is great fun to have friends that are up for dressing up, acting as a character and solving a mystery. In fact, it is just as fun to be there not in character!! Thanks Laura!
