Stockyards & Cowboys...

This past weekend we headed up to the Ft. Worth area for some fun! Saturday afternoon we drove up to see my friend Kathleen . I have known her for a long time but we rarely get to spend much time together. Sadly, her husband Dennis was hunting all weekend but we went on to have fun without him!

After enjoying a nice visit and a walk with their sweet dog, Bella, we ventured into downtown Ft Worth. Even when I lived in Dallas, I never got over to the Ft Worth side much. It is a very different world and I love it! Brad had never been to the Stockyards so that is where we focused our night out.

It was a busy night that night. Some folks had a 3-day weekend for Veteran's Day and we were also there during the Rodeo hours. So, we enjoyed walking around and seeing all the Cowboys and Cowgirls. These are the real deal... not just folks that put on boots and a hat. In fact, many times we would hear spurs clanking by too! It was fun people watching!!! After we checked out some shops and worked up an appetite, we had dinner at a super YUMMY place called Riscky's.

Barrel Racers and Ropers getting warmed up for the Rodeo.
It was honestly one of the best steaks I have ever had in my life. And who knew "fried corn" could be so good!?!

After dinner we stumbled out STUFFED and walked a little more. We found a star that had some meaning to me... since Brad's father called me "Amy Oakley" after we went shooting last year.

Then Brad had some fun of his own...

After a quick stop for some dessert we were all tuckered out so we headed home and hit the hay! We had ever MORE Cowboys to see the next day... but of a very different kind.

A house divided...

A couple of weekends ago, we had some folks over to watch the Texas Tech vs. UT football game.

We had a good time and, as expected, the Longhorns prevailed. However, I am writing this blog for the sole reason to show you the following pictures... because they are too cute not to share!!!

The Explorer...

I am a little behind on blogging, so today while I eat lunch at work, I will attempt to get caught up!

My last entry was about the "sneak peek" we got of the new vehicle. And, as promised, our new Explorer was delivered the next day! We absolutely love it.

We held out for that color blue. Our dealer didn't have one on their lot, so they had to trade with a dealership outside of San Antonio. I love the color, so I am happy we waited.

We are still learning all of the bells and whistles. I am not sure that we will EVER use them all but it sure is fun!

Touch screen with Sirius radio, navigation, blue tooth, dual climate control and more!

Leather seats!

They aren't up in this picture, but there is a 3rd row of seats that can be raised so we can seat tons of folks!

The front has a sunroof and the back has a moon roof!
