Sunday was our final morning in Chicago. We started this morning the same as the other mornings with a yummy breakfast...

My Mom had been in Chicago a couple of days before my arrival and during that time, she found a GREAT
Italian Deli in the ground floor of the Hancock Building, which was right across the street from our hotel. This is where we began each morning during our trip. They offered hot breakfast items as well as TONS of pastries and baked goods. However, the item that sealed the deal for me? Their Chai Tea Latte... oh my... it is honestly the best I have ever had! And coming from a Starbucks addict, this is a big compliment. I have my local Starbucks Barista trained to know all of the special instructions for my order. At this place, no special instructions were needed... it was a perfect drink just straight up.

While we were there, we also had sandwiches made for our plane rides home. I got an Italian Sub and let me just tell you... wow- it was a thing of beauty. There were so many layers of yummy meat and cheese- I couldn't count them all!! If I didn't think I would have looked totally bonkers, I would have taken a picture of it. :o) I just didn't think the people sitting around me on the plane would understand.
So, after enjoying our last breakfast, we headed back to the hotel to finish packing up. We grabbed a cab to the airport and hung out for a while. We were flying on different airlines and our flights departed about 30 minutes apart from each other. We got there early to get through security and then we just strolled around the airport for a while.

(Horrible picture! I fly dressed for comfort- not fashion!)
My flight left first, so we hugged and said our goodbyes. It was such a great trip... truly fun Mother & Daughter time. I hope it is something we can do again in the future. Since my parents moved to Mississippi a couple of years ago, we have learned to really savor each visit. We just never know when the next one will be!!
So, there you have it! The Adventures of Amycita and Mamacita in The Windy City! We saw a lot of awesome things, ate a lot of incredible things and managed not to freeze to death or get lost while doing it all! It was a trip that combined two of my favorite things... traveling and my mother.

OH, the Italian Deli! I had breakfast there every morning the last time I went to Chicago, too. (The hotel was close.) Their chai is divine. Sounds like a great trip!
What a great trip!! It makes me want to go back to Chicago real soon. I am glad I went in October, though, when it wasn't so cold! :)
