Zoe is our sweet one-eyed cat. She is just under 2 years old. We adopted her with her sister, Gypsy, over a year and a half ago. We aren't sure how she lost her eye, although she was very skiddish around the dogs at first, so our guess is some sort of animal attacked her when she was very small. Luckily, they were both taken in by a sweet woman who does kitten rescues in Lakeway. She found a vet that agreed to treat Zoe and operate on her eye. She has a sweet little spirit and she is a tiny cat. Her meow is more like a sigh and she isn't very demanding. Don't for one second believe that losing her eye has slowed her down one bit! Here is a bit about our little Zoe cat.

Zoe LOVES is random pieces of paper. She will chase and gather any small pieces of paper in the house. Sometimes this can be bad because she likes to chew on it too- so, I can't tell you how many times we have found a relatively important paper with Zoe teethmarks around the edges. She will also take them away to places we never know and will never see again. We can only guess they are taken to her favorite "pack rat" hideout.
Zoe's absolute favorite thing is plastic. When I came home from the hospital after gallbladder surgery, I made Zoe the happiest cat in the world... I gave her my hospital bracelets. Oh my! She played with those for weeks. Strangely, we never saw them again- even when we recently moved.
Zoe's favorite plastic item is a milk jug ring. She will flip and slide all around the house with one of those. Whenever we open a new jug, we specifically wait until we see Zoe to present her with this gift. They are then thrown in the air, slid across the floor and chased under furniture. This video is just a small example of the fun she has... that is until Cheyenne apparently decided she had had enough. :o) After Cheyenne cleared the scene, Zoe was right back at it... another milk jug ring to conquer!
We have always known that our cat, Zoe, had some OCD tendencies. After she eats, she "cleans" her area up by scratching the surrounding floor to tidy up the area... sometimes she gets so into it that it can be heard across the house. So, if you look closely after she is done, you will see a tidy little pile of whatever was around. It could be pieces of food, hair, dust or anything that might have been on the floor, no matter how small.
Recently, when we moved, we hit the mother load of Zoe's collection. The location? Under our china cabinet.

I took a close up shot so that you can see what kind of things our Zoe collects... I see a couple of Sonic mints, a Christmas bow, the cup to some cough medicine, the top to a water bottle, an earplug, some pieces of paper... oh and you can't miss the milk jug rings!!

"Time for my close-up?"

OMG - this cracks me up!! She's a hoot. My trixie is very similar w/all her new kitty toys. ;)
My kitty loves the milk jug rings, too. (We call them "curly q's" at our house.) When we got a new oven and had the old one removed, we found a TON of them under there. haha!
